Even though no A/C Mr. Maruti makes it worth it. As he says, "If you want Western amenities why come to India?" His rooms simple bed an bath but right near Assi Ghat, the start of the strip of ceremonial stairs on the bank of the ganges. He gives you a perfect run down of what the scams are (and they are EVERYWHERE, if you refuse someones offer and they are still pushy, this is a good test for a scam) and where you should go, prices etc. I would definitely stay here again.

70% Customer Rating Novice Nomad (2) We felt very welcome in this hostel. The owner drew us a good map of varanasi, this was very usefull to us. Nice food, and clean rooms. The airport pick-up service was necessary, there were a lot of 'false informers' at the railway station. A bit expensive though, it's easy to find cheaper accomodation in the neighbourhoud.

If you want charming and unique guesthouse with warm and very helpful staff stay at Maruti Guest House. The family really make you feel at home and relaxed, food is awesome. Its in a perfect location and a walk away from all the action, safe and character rooms at a good price for its central location

Confidence its really priceless in a place where everybody try to cheat on you. On Maruti guest house they don't charge extra for the advices, the help and their honestly. I really very thankfull for everything with them..And I can say that was the most trustable people I knew.. congrats

Greetings to Dr. and Mama, Papu and Tripthi and of course Sruti who always looked after me. I am thinking of returning to India which made me think of The Maruti Guest House. So I took a look and found that you had finally started a website - congratulations! I hope that you are all healthy and happy and have maybe made a trip to Puttaparthi since I was there. This is a great place to stay. It's an oasis of calm and honesty amidst the chaos and dishonesty surrounding it. The family are friendly and welcoming - make sure you stay here on your travels through India

This was a wonderful place to stay that made my time in Varanasi all the more special. Babu and Tripti who run the place made me feel very welcome. The food was lovely and Tripti makes lovely jewellry and dresses which are hard to resist. Rooms are good, prices very reasonable and they make sure that you know your way around Varanasi, letting you know all the sights to see. Maruti is only 2 mins walk to Assi Ghat and an easy stroll along the Ganges to other ghats like the Burning Ghat. The rooftop garden was an oasis after a day of sight seeing! I highly recommend Maruti Guest House to everyone travelling to Varanasi :-)

The best guesthouse on our trip. It was so nice sitting on the terrace and drinking Triptis masala tea. They took good care of us!
